Say yes to flower power!

Let’s celebrate the good weather, and with it, all the flowers that appear! There’s no better time to try out some botanical art. A journey in the footsteps of Franck and Aude, who carry out this practice in their orange grove in the south of Ardèche, “picking what is fragile and harvesting what is beautiful”.
Today, Fermob has gathered some tips on how to match the colours of your furniture, organise your dining space and create a 100% natural look.
Say yes to the wonderful power of flowers – and all plants!

A colour palette composed of green tones

To highlight the beauty of nature, opt for soft-coloured furniture: hues of green (Rosemary, Cactus, Willow Green) seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment. Then, add some touches of bright colour (Capucine, Frosted Lemon, Cotton White) to bring out the green tones and to brighten up the set – much like little coloured flowers that brighten a lush green backdrop.

A design that blends with nature

The BIARRITZ table with extensions adapts to your number of guests, be it small or large gatherings! Thanks to its timeless look, easily combine it with all Fermob chairs! There are endless options to explore… But in a charming place like the orange grove, where romanticism and floral art are abound, the sleek Kintbury chair and the Flower armchair, with its pretty flower-shaped perforations, were the obvious choice!

BASKET and TERRAZZA planters

Enhance your outdoor spaces thanks to greenery. Revamp your outdoor spaces by adding plants, and display them beautifully with BASKET and TERRAZZA planters. Thanks to their clean lines, these elegant planters with legs add depth and a very decorative touch to your balconies, terraces and gardens. They also make perfect separators! Section your outdoor spaces thanks to islands of greenery: a dining space over here, a lounge space over there.

For a very decorative effect, create cascades or rows with your planters! And for an outdoor space that’s green all year long, choose some plants that flower at different times of the year, to which you can add a few evergreen shrubs. The hardest part will be choosing between the Basket and Terrazza planters.

“Enjoy the beauty of nature and the diversity of flowers that each season has to offer. As flowers blossom, so does inspiration. Dive into the world of floral art! ”

Welcome to Casa Pyla! https://www.fermobpeople.com/en/welcome-to-casa-pyla/ Fri, 22 Apr 2022 14:15:50 +0000 https://www.fermobpeople.com/welcome-to-casa-pyla/

This beautiful Arcachon villa is home to a haven of peace: the creative residence of Karine Kong, who renovated it and where style reigns supreme, especially photography, where she shoots beautiful pictures. Fermob invites you to take a journey to this minimalist universe, made up of simple materials and natural tones. Immerse yourself, just like the photo shoot team for this year’s catalogue, in this décor that soothes the soul.

The first part of our visit, the lounge

There is an overwhelming sense of calm in this large lounge flooded with natural light, a softness created using mineral tones. Its natural colours are punctuated with a few strokes of Anthracite, one of the most successful colours in Fermob’s colour chart, which echo the frames of the three windows. The LUXEMBOURG lounge chair, in the same colour, contrasts with the surrounding pristine monochrome pallet, helping to break it up. However, its comfortable curved slats fully add to the calm ambience. As do the SALSA low table and the H63 MOOON! lamp with their round edges. Immerse yourself in serenity.

The second part of our visit, the dining room.

In this uncluttered space, we love the combination of the STUDIE chairs and armchairs, whose vintage look takes its inspiration from classrooms, and the wooden table, bringing warmth. An elegant and understated combination of wood and metal, exactly what we want when looking for a minimalist ambience at home. An immediate sense of well-being…

A cosy lounge area

On the superb roble patio, a garden lounge invites you to relax. The anthracite LUXEMBOURG Low Armchairs, whose ample curves invite you to curl up, offer your guests absolute comfort to have a chat, enjoy the landscape and the sun… A trio of OULALA nesting low tables accompany them, including a Honey coloured one, adding a touch of light to this quirky minimalism. The finishing touch? A cushion from the EVASION collection to lean on for added comfort. Relaxation guaranteed!

The dining area

A fully white monochrome look makes the dining area super elegant. For a surprising effect, Karine has combined the curved STUDIE chairs and armchairs, with the CALVI table, with its straight lines and very modern style – two contrasting styles that give the most wonderful effect when combined! As does the combination of the wooden patio and metal furniture. Try it out without further delay.

For Karine, “selecting natural colours has become an invisible link between the indoor and outdoor spaces”. The natural tones also allow you to focus on the essentials and transform your home into a haven of peace. To create an intimate space, take a fresh look at the understated and elegant white/beige and grey/black monochrome pallets. Or play with contrasting colours (from the Fermob colour chart) Liquorice, Anthracite, Clay Grey and Cotton White. Don’t forget to add a touch of light!

Season 3
A breath of fresh air!

A secret life is a happy life…

Ideally one lived in the midst of a forest! On that front, the Brisset Estate ticks all the boxes, since it’s completely hidden from view, only appearing as you round the final corner. The Bertrand family invited us into their impressive home, a recent purchase, for the 2021 Album shoot.
And what a warm welcome we received from retired combat helicopter pilot Jean-Charles and emergency doctor Pascale, who met in the army, and their two children Pierre and Antoine, both 11 years old.
“The experience was fun from start to finish,” says J-C.

When you laid eyes on the Brisset Estate, it was love at first sight!

P : Absolutely! When Jean-Charles retired from his job as an army helicopter pilot in 2018, it was out chance to make the move we’d always dreamed of – to leave Alsace and head to sunnier climes. He spotted the house on the “Maisons Atypiques” website. It’s only 2 km from the centre of Montélimar, but it’s so peaceful it’s like living out in the countryside.

JC: I fell madly in love with the place the first time I set foot inside!

The house is known locally for its interesting past. Can you tell us more?

JC : When they were building the place back in the late 18th century, they had to dig into the hillside. The workers uncovered a vast Neolithic burial site measuring 100 by 30 metres. The chamber has since been converted into a wine cellar. It’s bigger than the Drôme Provençale and Vaucluse cellars! We access it from the lounge via a glazed door, so we can admire it all day long. During the Second World War, the house served as the headquarters of the Wehrmacht. You can still see the scars left by American bullets in the render. There’s also a Roman stone tablet in the grounds dating from 400 A.D. We’ve had historians come along to see it!

It’s the dream family home! The boys play in the forest. There’s a huge dormitory, a giant games room, and a pond with fish and frogs!

Describe this distinctive house for us!

The huge terrace overlooks the valley. When you stand there, you feel like you’re floating above the treetops. It’s a Provençal country house that was restored in the 1920s by a doctor from Lyon. It’s since passed through the hands of many families. The owners before us modernised the place. And I’ve spent the last 18 months doing my own renovations, including laying IPE decking around the spring-water pool, which used to be a fish pond. I’ve also kitted out the garage, which now houses my cars and motorbikes. I’ve always been a handy mechanic, and I love restoring vehicles to their former glory. My old Land Rover was definitely popular with the Fermob team!

Speaking of Fermob, you took part in the casting call for the 2021 Album. What prompted you to apply?

P : We picked up a copy of the Album last year from our favourite interior design store in Montélimar. I remarked, half-joking, that it sounded like a fun thing to do. Jean-Charles and the boys took me at my word and submitted an application along with some photos. The rest is history!

How did the shoot go?

The children couldn’t have been more excited. They thought they were going to be famous! The team spent four days with us. It was a great experience. It’s fascinating to see everything that goes on behind the camera. When you’re in front of the lens, you have no idea just how much work goes into one photo!

You love living around here. Can you share some of your favourite places with our Fermobpeople community?

It’s ideally situated, just 1 hour 30 from Lyon and 1 hour 40 from Marseille! There are some really pretty villages nearby, like Grignan, Saint-Restitut, La Garde-Adhémar and Suze-la-Rousse. And Montélimar is a tranquil provincial town. It’s a lovely place to live.

Collection FERMOBXMELLEMIMIJOLIE
Limited edition

FERMOB x MELLEMIMIJOLIE: A lush collection in a strictly limited edition

Take two nature-lovers: one a brand, the other a designer. Put them together and what do you get? A lush collection that’s bang on trend at a time when greenery is becoming a staple feature of indoor spaces. After all, who among us doesn’t have a plant or two in the corner of our lounge? What’s more, leaves, fruits and flowers are the must-have decorative craze of the moment, appearing on fixtures, fittings and accessories of every type – from sofas and wallpaper to cushions and ornaments. It’s a trend that’s putting us back in touch with nature and bringing beauty and gentle relaxation to our everyday lives. That’s why the limited-edition Fermob x Mellemimijolie collection couldn’t be more apt. Get a sneak preview of the story behind it!

Fermob opened my eyes to a new avenue of creativity, letting me tell a story – the story of our return to nature

Fermob and collabs

At Fermob, the brand known for its expertise in furniture-making, we simply love working with like-minded artists from all walks of life – and using our industrial know-how to turn creative ideas into reality. Because being open-minded to other design influences, and harnessing the mutually enriching power of collaboration, is an immensely rewarding experience. First, we teamed up with Koralie, who successfully revisited our famous Balad lamp. This time around, we invited textile and graphic designer Mellemimijolie – real name Sandrine Djellil – to develop a limited edition on the theme of winter gardens to supplement the brand’s furniture, lighting and accessory collections.

A natural collab, in every sense

Cocotte occasional tables with tops adorned with cut-out leaves. Monstera and Lady Jane trivets named after the stylised plants that inspired the designer. There’s only one word to describe them: lush! This collab is all about bringing nature into the home, with appealing colours – Anthracite, Cedar Green, Red Ochre and Chili – that add a touch of warmth to your cosy space.

Plants, flowers and vegetation in general speak to the resplendent elegance of nature. There’s nothing more delicate than a leaf – a structure of infinite detail that’s open to endless interpretations

Mellemimijolie and Fermob: second nature!

Mellemimijolie’s creative identity is founded on the values that Fermob holds dear: colour, nature and joie de vivre. It was those qualities that brought her to our attention on Instagram.

My influences – colour, poetry and greenery – were a great fit with Fermob. We shared the same penchant for freshness and fun.

“It was inspiring to collaborate with a French brand that has solid green and eco-design credentials. I’d worked on designs for stationery, candles and textiles before, but this was my first foray into the world of furniture. The idea was to turn everyday objects into something different – with elegant, illustrated designs and custom patterns. My brief was to revisit the tops of the Cocotte tables using silkscreen-printed blocks of colour and to design eye-catching trivets for meals and get-togethers. Other than that, Fermob gave me complete creative freedom. It wasn’t your usual collab, though. It all happened under lockdown, so we never met in person. We worked from home, via our screens, with our children playing around us. It all went remarkably smoothly in the circumstances!”

If you share our passion for gentler interiors that reflect who you are and procure a sense of well-being – especially since we’re all spending more time at home right now – 😉then look no further than the Mellemimijolie limited-edition collection. Because when a collab produces something this good, it’d be a shame to miss out! And with Christmas just around the corner, these pieces are the ideal ready-made gifts.

I find inspiration all around me. I’ve been collecting postcards, and copies of Glamour and Vogue magazine, for years. And I’m a huge fan of sketchbooks and art books.

DIY – A colourful advent calendar https://www.fermobpeople.com/en/diy-a-colourful-advent-calendar/ https://www.fermobpeople.com/en/diy-a-colourful-advent-calendar/#respond Thu, 08 Oct 2020 07:17:41 +0000 https://www.fermobpeople.com/diy-a-colourful-advent-calendar/ This year we’re in for a colourful, creative Christmas! In this article, we’ll show you how to make your own Advent calendar with just a pair of scissors and some sticky-backed plastic. Easy and quick to make, it’s also highly decorative.

The post DIY – A colourful advent calendar first appeared on FermobPeople.

And even if everyone loves a white Christmas, with a bit of gold, Christmas tree green, and festive red, this year we’re in the mood for a splash of colour. A bit of pep and gourmet or even rural designs, light spirits and gratitude, a bit of MIX&MATCH. In short, we were after an adventurous Advent calendar!

To that end, we brought together the most eyecatching designs from our Accessories: the Envie d’Ailleurs, Trèfle and Lorette collections.

Making your Advent calendar

What you need:

  • Sticky-backed plastic
  • Masking-tape with a design to match your tastes: glitter, patterned, gold, silver… the choice is yours.
  • Scissors
  • Printer
  • And of course: 24 little treats

Make your Advent calendar in four easy steps:

Allow 90 minutes to make the 24 cartons.

Step 1: Download and print the six pattern templates. Cut out the 24 patterns.
Step 2: Use the sticky-backed plastic to stick the two smallest sides of each template together.
Step 3: Use the masking-tape to assemble the top of the carton (the side closest to the number).Place a little treat inside each carton.
Step 4Seal the cartons with see-through tape.

Here’s a few ideas of things you can put in your cartons: Jewellery (rings, pins, chains, charms, brooches, etc.) sweets (bonbons, chocolates, candy, fruit sweets, etc.), tea bags, seeds for planting, small Christmas tree and nativity decorations, make-up and beauty miniatures (perfume samples, nail varnish, lipstick, etc.), goodies (keyrings, badges, USB sticks, etc.), beads and threads, small scented candles and other fragrances (incense, essential oils, etc.), toys (small soft toys, figures, toy cars, etc.), stick-on tattoos, pastry cutters, hair accessories (pins, headbands, bobbles, etc.).

Comment if you think of anything else!

If you like, you can stick a piece of thread under the masking tape so you can hang the cartons from a few branches of the Christmas tree painted with spray paint!

Want to be even more creative, choose your favorite designs and add the numbers as you wish?
No problem, just choose “designs only” and it’s completely up to you!

AN EXCLUSIVE CITY GUIDE FOR YOU, the FERMOBPEOPLE

Summer is coming… And this is the year to seize the opportunity to visit our beautiful country! Our catalogue shoot in Cap Ferret piqued our curiosity for the Atlantic coast. So we interviewed some fans from over there. Quentin, Karine and Hélène are all very active on Instagram, and they tell you about their favourites on the Basque coast, around the Bay of Arcachon and in Brittany. Get on board!

Arcachon City Guide by Karine de Bodie & Fou

Karine, a stylist, decorator and portraitist, who is behind the Instagram Bodie & Fou account (named after her former decorating shop), has gone to live in Arcachon Bay after spending over 15 years in London. She thought she could never leave the city, but would never go back for anything in the world (she feels so good in the region)! She has shared with us her favourites in the “Bassin” (as the locals call the Bay).

Her ideas on how to spend your days
Arcachon Bay is: mile after mile of white sand, a magnificent forest of thousand-year-old pines, and a highly preserved environment, because the laws on the coast are very strict. Surfing, swimming and cycling on the menu!

What’s the best spot to gaze at the sunset over the Bay and the Dune du Pilat?
Definitely the terrace of La Co(o)rniche, a 5-star hotel redecorated by Starck. Get there early for a before-dinner drink with tapas, as it’s a very popular spot!

THE beach for surfing?
La Salie Nord, on the road to Biscarrosse, which is really worth the effort: you have to walk about ten minutes over duckboards to get there. You’re sure to get fine waves! To end the day on a high note, enjoy a dinner in the woods, at La Salie Sud (see the section “for your taste buds”).

What about beaches for families?
Le Petit Nice and La Lagune

Addresses for treating yourself (and others!)

For surfing equipment?
The SEN NO SEN shop in Le Moulleau: this small independent surfing brand manufactures wetsuits made of Yulex natural rubber, a high-performance and environmentally friendly material. Book a surfing session just next door with a teacher in the best surf club in the Bay OCEAN ROOTS

For furniture and pretty objects?
The Zig & Puces shop (which sells Fermob), also in Le Moulleau.

And for a perfect Sunday?
Browse through the markets of the region, including the Le Moulleau organic market and the Teste-de-Buch market, where you’ll find both fresh local produce from sustainable agriculture and fashion stands. Also check out the open-air jumble sales.

For your taste buds

Traditional food?
The oyster farmer’s huts where you can eat oysters, whelks and shrimps, washed down with white wine.

To get in the mood?
At Pyla, the Club Paradiso: a fun tapas bar

To eat out?
Restaurant Le jardin: delicious cuisine, served on the terrace.

In summer only…
The pop-up restaurant Club Pereire, designed by Bartherotte, who built the house in the film “Little White Lies”. An ideal spot to admire the sunset!

And after a day on the beach?
La Salie Sud: hidden away in the woods, a prettily decorated restaurant.

For a family outing?
Head for Chez Juliette, on the Laouga beach on the Lac de Cazaux. The waters are really clear, and you can chill out while the children play in the sand. Very nice, warm welcome, with tapas and poke bowls on the menu.

Places to stay?

Decorative atmosphere at home
La Casa Pyla, a creative residence that Karine makes available to brands for shooting sessions and where she gives workshops on her favourite subjects: styling, decoration, photography and well-being.

Interior design
The HOME hotel in Arcachon which is not far from the beach.

In the centre of Arcachon
Hôtel de la Ville d’Hiver located in one of the most beautiful districts and a 10 minute walk from the town centre. A charming hotel that reflects the spirit of the Bay and has a superb swimming pool.

Whatever you do, don’t miss…
The Dune du Pilat, the highest sand dune in Europe. Early in the morning or at the end of the day, to see it at its best. Magic!

Take the boat early in the morning for a day at Cap-Ferret. When you get there, hire a bike and ride around the Bay via the many cycle paths that link Arcachon, Cazaux and La Teste.

Stroll through the winter district of Arcachon: architecture to feast your eyes on.

The typical huts on stilts erected by the oyster farmers in the Bay.

The charming ports of Teste-de-Buch and Biganos

And the superb city of Bordeaux, only 45 minutes away by car!

A tip: Enjoy the Bay without the crowds during the delicious Indian summer…

 EDITOR’S NOTE

A little further down, the surfers’ paradise of Biscarosse. Have a drink at the Beach Bar La Siesta. You’ll find a relaxing atmosphere with a fine view of the ocean.

DISCOVERING THE LOIRE AREA WITH HELENE FROM PETITVILLAGE

Hélène is a mother of three. On her Instagram account, @Petitvillage, she tells us about her “simple” family life. She has only one word on her lips: authenticity. It’s the right word for Le Pouliguen, where she goes on holiday every summer, “a family resort, with an incomparable gentle way of life” “When we’re at Le Pouliguen it’s walking + cycling + beach! And then we have our rituals,” she says.

The thing we love to do as a family: going to Café Ploom, for brunches, meals or gourmet snacks. Vegetarian food, all home-made, and we can bring our dog with us onto the terrace, which is important!

For a little culture: the Café Lecture Gourmande, open even out of season. Children can eat doughnuts while they read or play board games.

The most Instagrammable spot: the Carrousel, on the Old Port, THE place to take great pictures! And keep the youngsters busy 😉

By the sea… We like to walk on the promenade along the coast and we love the little creeks. Our favourite beach is the Plage du Rau, where the families turn up. If you like surfing, the Plage de la Gauvelle is the place to go!

Our thing … Setting out early in the morning to walk our dog in La Baule on the long sandy beach. We keep away from the crowds and admire the Hôtel de l’Hermitage in the light of the rising sun.

For local, fresh produce: the Marché du Pouliguen

To fall for pretty decorative objects: Dunes, a pop-up shop of designers from Nantes, including Mimi Cerise

Exploring the region:

Guérande, with its salt marshes, ramparts and small designer shops
Saint-Nazaire and its liners
Le Croizic, a very pretty little town with an aquarium
La Turbale

And all the little seaside towns

Any final thoughts? You must try “niniches”, the lollipops of the region!

Off to a special destination, still very wild and very authentic! Just like Hélène! Are you tempted?

This small but revolutionary lamp caused quite a stir when it was launched. That’s not surprising! As the first portable lamp in Fermob’s history, it was designed to live outside and to go with you, wherever you are! Featuring innovative technology which creates whatever lighting you’re looking for (warm or cold, 100% or 50% for a softer, more subdued effect) and a curved design, it very quickly became a must-have, leading to the creation of a wide-ranging collection. How many family meals has it lit up on long summer evenings? How many picnics at the beach has it witnessed? How many secrets has it overhead in country meadows?

Fermob and art: an intense love story

Fermob has always loved working with creators who share the brand’s DNA. This year, the brand invited the artist Koralie to be part of a unique collaboration: combining the Balad’s design, created by the designer Tristan Lohner, with Koralie’s artistic world. When the brand contacted her, this artist was flattered. “We share the same values and the same mindset. Authenticity + French creation + the world of design = plenty of similarities between Fermob and me: a perfect match! ”

The Balad is an inspiring piece because it provides a vast area for expression with its sleek, simple design. Ideas for “adorning” the Balad lamp came almost naturally to me. I really liked its nomadic indoor/outdoor feel, the way it can be put down or hung and its timelessness.

Carte blanche for Koralie

As a brand which believes in nurturing talent, Fermob gave Koralie free rein when it came to creating 2 versions of the H25 Balad lamp. The artist explored two very different options: a colourful version, inspired by plants, and an Art Déco model with graphic monochrome patterns. A single step in the creation process: a moodboard to present Fermob with a few shapes, inspired by Koralie’s unique visual language.

An irresistible limited edition!

Our community was invited to choose between the two versions. Our Fermobpeople voted: they preferred the plant-inspired “Balad Vegetal” which resulted in a limited edition featuring a silkscreen print. “An incredible fan of phyllotaxis*”, Koralie decorated it with patterns inspired by the perfection of nature. The incredible sophistication of the plant order fascinates her: “I spend more time admiring Romanesco broccoli or a pineapple than I do cooking them!” she says.😉

I like the idea of the Balad’s different lighting settings; my favourite is the setting which recreates the temperature and the intensity of candlelight.

Well, this summer, the “Balad Vegetal” will create an intimate atmosphere (although that’s not all) on warm evenings for the happy few who snap up this limited edition. This lamp pays tribute to nature: we hope it has a bright future and that it’ll be copied over and over again. Thank you Koralie!

Portrait of a unique urban artist

From her beginnings in street art, as one of the only French women to create graffiti, to her move to the Basque coast to be closer to nature, Koralie’s career has also taken her to Paris and New York. The long periods she spent there inspired the shapes of her unique pictorial language: ethnic-inspired patterns from different countries (Koralie says she is a real fan of folklore and handicrafts), architectural elements (from her studies in this area) and animist rituals, both traditional and contemporary. She compiles all these elements into astonishing kaleidoscopic roses and multicultural palm trees.

Her style is also unique, because she mixes up the media and the materials she uses: paintings on canvas or murals (sometimes using stencils), wood sculptures and weaving, vector art, installations, videos and more. Her artwork is exceptionally elegant!

#FERMOBPEOPLE
Season 2 – Episode #4
Ocean Lovers
26 August 2019

Fermob’s Album shoot team headed to the west coast of France to meet a family of Ocean Lovers and members of the #FermobPeople community. Here, we catch up with one of the girls, Amy – a keen surfer and wine expert who’s always ready to share some of her unusual pairing tips. 😉

Tell us about the shoot…

It took place at our home in Cap Ferret. We’ve been coming to the peninsula for over 30 years. It was great fun! My mum’s an interior designer, so we really enjoyed talking about design and decoration with the team. We also like our food and drink, so I think we were very generous hosts!  The shoot itself felt really spontaneous and natural. I’ve done shoots on my own for other brands, but this time around we applied as a family – me, my sister and my mum. I have fond memories of the shoot.

How did you end up working as a wine expert?

As part of my master’s degree at INSEEC School of Communication, I did an internship on a wine estate. The experience really opened by eyes. I decided that was my calling – not surprising when you consider that my maternal grandparents have a home Bédoin, in the foothills of Mount Ventoux, nestled among the vines. Then I took a course at the Le Cordon Bleu school, set up Franck Ramoche, former head sommelier at Hôtel de Crillon in Paris. There were 19 of us on the course – people of all ages and from all walks of life. There was a cosmopolitan feel to it, with instructors from around the world. It was a whirlwind year – an invigorating and exciting experience to say the least! I spent time falling in love with France again, travelling the length and breadth of the country to learn about the history and features of different soils and regions. Then I took an internship at Pierre Gagnaire restaurant.

What took you to La Dame de Pic?

The course at Le Cordon Bleu was life-changing. It was the best thing that’s ever happened to me! My class supervisor was world-famous Argentinian sommelier Paz Levinson. At the graduation ceremony, she offered me a job as an assistant sommelier at La Dame de Pic, Anne-Sophie Pic’s Parisian restaurant. Working for the world’s most decorated chef is a real honour. I couldn’t have been happier. And I’m still just as happy today…

Can you recommend any food-and-wine pairings that are easy to enjoy at home?

There aren’t any special rules. It’s about savouring the experience. Let’s say you’re having Chinese food. Go to your local wine merchant and pick up a bottle of Loire or Sauternes – sweet and refreshing wines that will really compliment your food. A crisp, slightly chilled red will make the perfect partner for fish, since it’s delicate in the mouth. If you’ve got more to spend, go for the complexity of Champagne. It adds sparkle to any meal, and it goes great with any dish.

You don’t have to choose a particular name or estate to find a wine you love. Just go with what takes your fancy at the time. You’ll find a winner through a process of trial and error!

What are your favourite places to grab a glass of wine in Paris and Cap Ferret?

  • My favourite place in Cap Ferret is Vintage Ferret, a bar and wine cellar on Boulevard de la Plage. They stock some really interesting Bordeaux, and the atmosphere is very laid-back.
  • In Paris, where I live and work, my top picks are Barav (6 Rue Charles-François Dupuis, 75003, Paris) and O Château (68 Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 75001, Paris), where they hold blind tasting sessions.
  • I also like La Cave du Septime on 3 Rue Basfroi in the 11th arrondissement, not least for the atmosphere!
